A year in review + Advancements for business strategy in 2024

2023 in Review

Let’s reflect on 2023 just briefly, words like challenging, turbulent and unpredictable all spring to mind. Speaking to our customers this year, they have experienced such a wide range of challenges. Inflation and economic uncertainty has put enormous pressure on business cycles and outcomes, supply chain and labor shortages continue to affect the successful achievement of strategic goals, and sadly natural disaster has also had a dramatic effect for many.

However, economic indicators suggest that the turbulent times are mostly behind us thankfully and current estimates suggest that annual growth will return to steady figures of around 3 percent over the next 4 years (Statista, Nov 2023).

During 2023 we have also all witnessed the rampant emergence of Artificial Intelligence as a pervasive technology, a technology which will continue to pervade more and more aspects of society in the coming years.

New for 2024

For StrategyBlocks we have some interesting plans which are almost ready to be unveiled to help our customers plan for the future and execute with greater efficiency.

Less clicks – we are optimizing the user interface of our Homepage. We are confident we can make the user experience more efficient by improving the design and layout. It means reducing clutter, simplifying navigation, and minimizing the number of steps required to update a block or jump to another part of the platform.

Project management – we will extend the capability of blocks to deliver more complex program management. This will include more granular date management, changes to how performance is reported and improved user experience.

AI strategic planning – StrategyBlocks Ideas, our ideation/innovation management module is the perfect mechanism to help organizations plan for the future. This week our executive team saw a demonstration of our new AI idea generation functionality, and it is truly something to behold! We’re excited to present it to customers and the market early next year.
